Long Racing Engines uses pistons from a variety of different manufactures including JE/SRP, Mahle, and Ross. This allows the customer to get the best piston available for their engine, budget, and time constraints. Between JE and Ross, L.R.E. can usually find an "off the shelf" piston that will work for most applications. This saves the customer both time and money in the often costly and lengthy engine development process. Some applications require the piston to have special features which must be engineered into the design. Ross and JE are our sources for these custom pistons. Custom orders normally take 4-6 weeks and require a full deposit prior to ordering. Contact L.R.E to get the best piston for your engine.
SRP is JE's sportsman series pistons. These are "off the shelf" pistons designed for the most common engine combinations. The benefit of the SRP line is that they are usually about 2/3 the price of a custom set. SRP pistons come in all of our competition rotating assemblies unless otherwise noted. Call and place your order today. Most SRP sets ship within 2 business days
Mahle pistons are extremely light weight pistons with small ring packages (.043, .043, 3/16 or smaller). These pistons are an excellent choice for high performance street machines and naturally aspirated, moderate horsepower racing engines. High RPM road race and dirt track applications can also benefit from the Mahle design. Call for recommendations and prices.
*In order to obtain the necessary static compression ratio's, we strongly recommend a custom piston for blown engines. Nitrous oxide burning engines should also use custom pistons in order to reduce the chance of lifting the top ring land. |
