Long Racing Engines carries the full product line of Eagle connecting rods. SBC and BBC rods are available in a variety of different lengths to accommodate stroke variations. They are available in both a light weight I -beam style as well as a super strong H-beam style. L.R.E. rotating assemblies come with the 4340 H-beam rods unless otherwise noted. For high horsepower outputs, we recommend upgrading the rod bolts to a 220,000 psi ARP 2000 series. These bolts hold up well under extreme racing conditions. SBC I-beam $218 SBC H-beam $375 BBC I-beam $280 BBC H-beam $385
Manley rods and Lunati rods are also available from L.R.E. Both of these rod manufactures offer a very strong 4340 product. Lunati is an I-beam style rod where as Manley is an H-beam. Rods made by these two companies are a step above the Eagle products for the customer who has a more demanding application. We can obtain the best rod available based on the individuals application. SBC and BBC Manley rods usually ship in 2 business days. All Lunati rods are special order items. Full payment is required prior to ordering. Call for details.
Carrillo Industries manufactures the best 4340 steel H-beam rods on the market. These rods are designed for the most extreme racing conditions. They incorporate the strongest rod bolts money can buy (CARR) along with unique oiling designs. Carrillo rods are a custom order item. Because of the expense of this product, Long Racing Engines requires a full deposit prior to ordering. There is also no refunds or exchanges on these rod sets. Use extreme caution when ordering Carrillo rods to customer specifications. Call for information and guidance to ensure you get the correct rod.
Long Racing Engines recommends GRP connecting rods for applications where aluminum rods are needed. GRP will custom make any rod length desired. GRP rods are CNC machined from billet aluminum to produce the strongest rods available. Forged titanium rods are also available from GRP. Special order only. Full payment required.
*A connecting rod is only as strong as its weakest link. Whether you buy a rod from Long Racing Engines or from a cheap overseas company, make sure that you are getting a quality rod bolt. The majority of rod failures are caused by fastener failure. We recommend changing rod bolts every season as a part of the normal freshen up process. Although this is not a guarantee for the life of the rod, we have seen a rod failure rate of less than 1% in customer's engines who regularly replace rod bolts. Depending on the number of passes made, and the severity of the racing, aluminum rods should be replaced at least once a season to prevent catastrophic damages. |
